A special opportunity for grandparents to explore the wonders of Darwin’s islands with grandkids 

Cultural Adventures tours joins with Galapagos National Park Guide Whitman Cox to offer a very special family adventure to the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. This trip will provide students and parents or grandparents opportunities to enjoy the natural environment of the islands with the unique animals, birds and marine life. In addition travelers will spend the week on the islands interacting with the local community while learning about daily life. The tour starts and ends in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Highlights of What’s Included:

Watch the green tree iguana in Guayaquil

Enjoy the activities on the Guayaquil malecon (boardwalk)

Ride in a glass bottom boat to look for marine animals

Walk along the beach to find sea organisms 

Observe family life of sea lions

Explore the natural habitat and nesting area of marine iguanas

Hike up Frigate Hill to see many Magnificent Frigate birds sitting in the trees

Visit the San Cristobal Island Land Tortoise Breeding Center 

Spend a day navigating across the north coast of San Cristobal, circumnavigating KICKER ROCK, the remains of an ancient volcano.

Take advantage of opportunities for snorkeling with sea turtles, sea lions, rays, fish

Discover giant land tortoises, sea turtles, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, marine iguanas and many other exotic creatures.


This is a trip for children ages 9 to 14 years old accompanied by a parent or grandparent. There will be opportunities to interact with local students in learning situations, games and sports. For example, kids may teach each other some basic language expressions or share information about their lives and country.

Included: Airport-hotel transfers,, local land transfer for activities, local daily boat tours, bilingual National Park Guide for activities, hotel for 2 nights in Guayaquil, hotel for 7 nights on the Galapagos, round trip flight Guayaquil /Galapagos, 3 meals in Guayaquil and all meals on the Galapagos.

Not Included: International flight; $20 Galapagos Transit Card, per person, adult or child; $100 Galapagos National Park fee, per adult, cash--US$ 50 children, cash.

 Total Price: $2695 per person (10 days/9 nights)

Participant’s Background Information

  • No immunizations are required for this trip
  • US citizens do not need a visa to visit EC. This is an active adventure
  • Participants must be in good health and know how to swim
  • Basic travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage is mandatory
  • The currency of EC is the US dollar

A nonrefundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your place. Balance is due by April 1, 
2020.
